Cypress selects Camstar's InSite

(Technology News, 07 Mar 2007 )

Camstar Systems, a provider of enterprise manufacturing execution and quality systems, announced that Cypress Semiconductor Corporation—a provider of consumer, computation, data communications, automotive, and industrial solutions—has selected Camstar's Insite for its conventional and autoline facilities in Cavite, Philippines.

Don Mika, vice president of operations for Cypress, said, "A major reason that we adopted Camstar's InSite was the launch of the 'factory of the future' at Cypress including next generation systems for backend semiconductor operations. It was imperative to have a system capable of supporting the complex test, assembly, and packaging requirements in both conventional backend lines and automated autolines, and that could be fully integrated into separate systems and equipment."

Alan Hawse, vice president of IT for Cypress, stated, "Other reasons for choosing Camstar's Insite were its ease of application integration and configurability. InSite simplifies integration with Oracle and other business systems, as well as with our custom systems and programs. Having the capability to model our current requirements and the new demands of the future was a must. "
