Compact transceivers pack more ports into higher speed enterprise networking equipment
(Product News, 13 Apr 2007 )
Avago Technologies has launched its high-performance Gigabit Ethernet SFP transceiver for extended link distances. The single-mode, hot-pluggable AFCT-57V6USZ is a Gigabit Ethernet transceiver module with a duplex LC optical interface supporting link distances of up to 80 km. The RoHS compliant high-performance module is optimized for Ethernet switches, multi-service switches, switched backplane applications or high-speed interfaces for server farms.
Avago’s new small form-factor pluggable (SFP) modules enable network equipment manufacturers to add greater port density into their product designs. As a result, the addition of Avago’s AFCT-57V6USZ enables the company to provide a comprehensive enterprise data networking product portfolio.
The reliable AFCT-57V6USZ features an advanced digital monitoring interface which continuously monitors operating temperatures, supply voltages, laser bias currents, transmitter optical output power and optical received power. It uses a 1550 nanometer distributed feedback (DFB) laser diode and leverages an integrated preamplifier/photodetector. Avago’s AFCT-57V6USZ is designed with an AC-coupled, differential serial I/O interface; supports extended and industrial temperature ranges; and is immune to ESD, RF fields and Vcc noise.
