The AD5516 IC gives you 16 channels of 12-bit DAC output level control for control and instrumentation, enhanced with 14-bit increment/decrement resolution.
Many industrial, control, and instrumentation applications need modest resolution but also the ability to tweak the signal with higher resolution around the present setpoint. The AD5516 from Analog Devices is a 16-channel, 12-bit DAC incorporating a special internal loop so you can get 14-bit resolution (0.25 LSB in terms of 12 bits) in its increment and decrement modes. The monotonic voltage-output device, housed in a 12×12-mm LFBGA package, provides bipolar outputs of ±2.5, 5, or 10V, depending on model, and has just 0.5W output impedance. Its three-wire serial interface supports SPI, QSPI, Microwire, and DSP-compatible operation, at clock rates up to 20 MHz; you can daisy-chain additional ICs for more channels as needed. The user supplies a 3-V reference, and you can force a reset via an asynchronous reset pin. The AD5516 is US$26.85 in 1000-piece orders.
