Enea Appoints Jim Lawrence as Chief Software

(Interviews, 28 Jun 2007 )

Enea, a provider of network software and services, has appointed Jim Lawrence to the position of chief software standards officer, where he will play an integral role in Enea's next generation standards based software platforms.

Jim is a telecommunications industry veteran with over 25 years of experience. During those years he pioneered many telecom technologies and solutions for Motorola, Intel, and OpenClovis. Jim is a member of the Service Availability Forum where he has provided leadership as chair of several working groups and has served on the Board of Directors.

Standards and the process of standardization provide significant additional value to the communications industry and, more specifically to Enea's ability to accelerate the deployment of Enea-enabled communications equipment. Standardization facilitates interoperability, encourages innovation, creates trust and confidence in products, brings down costs, increases competition, reduces project risks, and helps prevent the duplication of efforts.

"Jim brings a wealth of technology and standards experience and extraordinary business acumen to Enea," said Virginia Walker, Senior Vice President of corporate strategy and marketing at Enea. "We are very pleased to bring Jim into the Enea team where he will drive initiatives and development of next-generation, standards-based software platforms."
