Acer is now the number three PC brand worldwide, based on market share of total units shipped, according to 1Q, 2007 Gartner Dataquest information.
Acer gained the third place global PC vendor ranking, surpassing other vendors evaluated in the Gartner Dataquest report during the first quarter of 2007. Comparing year-on-year growth (1Q, 2006 to 1Q, 2007), total worldwide PC unit shipments grew at an average of 10 percent. In contrast, Acer's worldwide growth during the same period increased by 47.8 percent, the highest rate among the top ten PC vendors. The company's year-on-year shipments exceeded collective averages across all worldwide regions.
Acer Pan America—including the United States, Canada and Latin America—saw a significant increase in market share. As of Q1, 2007, Acer ranks as the number five PC brand in Latin America, number three in Canada and number six in the United States.
In the area of mobile PCs, the United States moved ahead of the competition to the number four position, gaining more than 113 percent, comparing year-on-year results (1Q, 2006 to 1Q, 2007). Acer Canada, currently number three in mobile saw a year-on-year increase of 83.2 percent. For Acer Pan America, Latin America had the biggest increase, with a year-on-year increase of 161.6 percent, taking the region to the number two position.

"Acer's growth in all regions, the U.S., Canada and Latin America in particular, continues to demonstrate that Acer is bringing to market the newest and most innovative technologies customers' desire."
