Tecate Strengthens Pan-European Distribution Channels for PowerBurst Ultracapacitor Cells and Modules

(Interviews, 11 Jul 2007 )

Tecate Industries, a global supplier of ultracapacitors and capacitors, has appointed four channel partners to its growing distribution network in Europe. Now comprising Tecate's roster of European distributors are Alphatron Electronic Parts in the Netherlands, Dimac Red in Italy, OEM Electronics in Sweden, Finland, Norway and Poland, and Young Electronics Group in the UK. These agreements extend Tecate's coverage throughout the world's fastest growing markets, and strengthen the company's ability to offer Pan-European customers unparalleled levels of local engineering and design resources. Each of these fully franchised distributors will stock Tecate's 100 percent RoHS-compliant PowerBurst Ultracapacitor line which consists of the TPL/TPLS Series of 2.7V cylindrical, radial leaded ultracapacitor cells, along with the PB Series of active and passive ultracapacitor modules.

"The addition of Alphatron, Dimac Red, OEM Electronics, and Young Electronics gives Tecate a significant platform for future growth within Europe," said Tom Wight, Tecate's director of sales. "These organizations were selected based on their outstanding reputation for distribution know-how, technical competence, and superior customer service and support to OEM, medium and low sales volume customers. We welcome these four European distributors, and look forward to lasting, and profitable relationships with each of them."

"Tecate's PowerBurst line is a natural fit for Alphatron, especially as the Netherlands has experienced a sizable increase in demand for energy storage products within the last few years. With the addition of Tecate's ultracapacitors, we can offer customers an extensive range of high-quality power supply products to meet their specific applications, as well as satisfy their delivery and price requirements," comments Johan Ter Heerdt, sales manager for Alphatron.

"We're very pleased to add Tecate's ultracapacitor cells and modules to our line card," said Giancarlo Trotti, product manager of Dimac Red. "We pride ourselves on supplying the Italian market with best-in-class power solutions, and Tecate's PowerBurst product offering is the caliber of components our customers demand. Our ability to stock these highly-reliable devices gives us a sizable advantage when dealing with customers."

"Located in among the world's most rapidly expanding markets, we're especially excited to now have our power supply product offering include Tecate's PowerBurst lines. We are confident that their inclusion to our line card will benefit Tecate, OEM Electronics, and our customers in the Baltic Sea region," said David Hansen, product manager.

Kim Elo, business area manager for Finland, commented: "These ultracapacitors represent a great opportunity for us to grow our customer base, while ensuring existing customers receive leading-edge technology power products."

"Young Electronics is very proud to have become a member of Tecate's Pan-European network," commented Trisha Kirkham, business development manager of Young Electronics Group. "As one of the UK's largest suppliers of electronic components, the PowerBurst Series is a logical extension to our portfolio. Moreover, as we stock these ultracapacitors locally, we can further ensure our customers have a significant time-to-market, and cost advantage over their competitors."
