Renesas Technology to expand business in ASEAN and Taiwan through reorganization

Renesas Technology Corp. has announced plans to expand the scope of its business in the ASEAN and Taiwan markets by merging the sales and application engineering subsidiaries in Singapore and Taiwan respectively. The two resulting unified organizations will have both sales and application engineering functions and officially start operating in October 2007.

Combining the sales and application engineering functions into one organization in the ASEAN and Taiwan markets will enable Renesas to provide efficient operations and enhanced levels of services to customers.

Under the new organization, the Singapore sales subsidiary, Renesas Technology Singapore Pte. Ltd., and application engineering subsidiary, Renesas System Solutions Asia Pte. Ltd., will merge. The resulting company will operate as Renesas Technology Singapore Pte. Ltd. Similarly, the functions of the Taiwan branch of Renesas System Solutions Asia Pte. Ltd. will be transferred to Renesas Technology Taiwan Co., Ltd., which will then handle both sales and application engineering operations in Taiwan.

Based on the new corporate structures, Renesas plans to develop and deliver new products specifically targeted for the ASEAN and Taiwan markets. At the same time, the company plans to further expand both local business and business for ASEAN's and Taiwan's subsidiaries headquartered elsewhere, such as Europe, North America, and Japan.
