New Delhi: ProCurve Networking by HP announced the year-over-year (YOY) port growth for the second calendar quarter of 2007 more than double the industry growth rate, according to a recent report by market research firm Dell’Oro Group.

According to the analyst firm’s data, ProCurve, enterprise LAN networking vendor, grew worldwide port shipments by 46 percent in the second calendar quarter of 2007 compared to the same period in 2006. The year-over-year industry growth rate for this period was 21 percent.

In addition, Dell’Oro Group reports that ProCurve’s Power over Ethernet (PoE) worldwide shipments grew 249 percent year over year compared to market growth of 60 percent. This data elevates ProCurve to the No. 2 industry position in PoE with 10 percent market share. The Dell’Oro Group report also positions ProCurve as the No. 2 vendor in Layer 2 and Layer 3 total Gigabit and 10 Gigabit ports.

John McHugh, vice president and general manager, ProCurve Networking by HP, said, “ProCurve’s continual market growth and leadership is a direct correlation to the expansion of our enterprise-class products and solutions, and customers embracing our Adaptive Networks vision.”

Subhodeep Bhattacharya, country manager for India, ProCurve Networking, stated, “ProCurve Networking delivers solutions of unrivalled quality backed by lifetime warranties that give businesses the confidence in building robust and cost effective networks. ProCurve is an evangelist of open standards, and with its strong Gigabit and 10 G solutions, ProCurve has seen a strong growth in its customer base. In the SMB space too, ProCurve's Web Managed switches are witnessing fast customer acceptance, as they offer better value over unmanaged switches at better TCOs."
