Congratulations to all the Management & Staff of EDN Asia on the 15th anniversary of the launch of EDN Asia, ably led by RBI Asia Managing Director Raymond Wong and EDN Asia Publisher Chen Wai-Chun, from all of your colleagues here at EDN Europe in France, Germany & the UK.

EDN Asia was the first dedicated electronics design publication for the Asian market when it was launched in 1992, two years after the establishment of Cahners Asia (RBI Asia’s predecessor) in the region. EDN Asia has set the pace ever since and today is a key part of the EDN Worldwide global network. Other Asia/Pacific editions followed in 1994 when EDN China was launched, and in 2001 with the launch of EDN Japan. EDN Asia and RBI Asia were the launching pad for all of the regional editions of EDN for Asia, China & Japan although today, the editions are locally managed by publishing teams based in Singapore for the Asian edition, Beijing for the China edition, and Tokyo for the Japan edition. But EDN Asia was the “grandfather” of them all!

As a former publisher of EDN Asia from June 1997 until May 2003, it is a source of great satisfaction and pride to me to see how the Asian publication has prospered and grown in recent years – in particular the multiple-language Web sites (Korean, traditional Chinese & English) have grown beyond recognition over the past three or four years. Happy 15th anniversary EDN Asia! We look forward to celebrating your 20th anniversary with you in 2012!
