ZyXEL unveils P-660HWP Series 802.11g HomePlug AV ADSL2+ Gateway

ZyXEL Communications Corp., said to be the world's largest residential gateway provider (In-Stat, 2007), has announced its P-660HWP 802.11g HomePlug AV ADSL2+ Gateway for small offices and home users.

"The P-660HWP Series targets people who prefer high-speed network access and versatile Internet access device for easy deployment," said Danny Yap, Product Manager of ZyXEL Singapore. "This new product not only features up to 200Mbps high transmission data rate, but also responds to users' demand on network security and media bandwidth management."

Designed for high performance, it is compliant with 802.11g wireless standard. ZyXEL P-660HWP Series supports data transmission speeds of up to 54Mbps and with a speed up to 24Mbps (ADSL2+), it offers higher data transfer rates and more bandwidth than traditional ADSL gateways. The ZyXEL P-660HWP Series is also built-in with the latest HomePlug AV technology and delivers up to 200Mbps data rate via power line.

“With the advent of high bandwidth media content such as IPTV, IP telephony, file sharing and online gaming in the Asia Pacific region, the P-660HWP provides the best solution to satisfy these applications,” said Danny Yap, Product Manager of ZyXEL Singapore. “Another advantage of the power line capability is the quality of HDTV and voice transmissions through power lines is also guaranteed by the inherent QoS with four priority levels. It also replaces traditional broadband set up of 2 individual devices the modem and router, thus taking out the guesswork from installation and servicing”.

The ZyXEL P-660HWP Series is an extended access solution that allows your house or small office to be completely networked with existing power lines. Simply connect the P-660HWP Series to an existing power socket to transform electrical lines into a house-wide network infrastructure without additional cables. It is designed to provide greater convenience and to increase the flexibility of users' digital life.

Compliant with the latest HomePlug AV Technology, the P-660HWP Series data transfer rate can reach up to 200Mbps via existing power line to fully satisfy any high bandwidth application needs.

· Robust Security Protection
ZyXEL's ICSA-compliant ZyNOS operating system ensures state-of-the-art firewall performance and robust security features. Based on Stateful Packet Inspection, Denial of Service (DoS) and Distributed Dos (DDoS) features, the series provide the first line of defense against hackers, network intruders and other harmful threats. Furthermore, the power line transmission is protected by 128-bit AES encryption to secure Internet access and network resource sharing.

· Advanced Media Bandwidth Management (MBM) QoS
With ZyXEL advanced MBM (Media Bandwidth Management) functions, users can instruct the P-660HWP Series to decide which services get more bandwidth. ZyXEL's MBM prioritizes media services, as well as increases productivity and efficiency in daily operations by tailoring a system to specific demands such as VoIP, IPTV, video-conferencing or P2P applications.
