Mouser Electronics sole stocking distributor of small surface mount digital color sensors

Mouser Electronics is the sole stocking distributor of what’s said to be the industry’s smallest surface mount digital color sensor from Avago Technologies.

The ADJD-S311, measures 2.2mm x 2.2mm x 0.76mm, is a CMOS IC with integrated RGB filters for design of portable devices that require higher integration, smaller size, and lower power consumption. The device is a four-channel RGB and clear digital sensor with 10-bit resolution that provides easy integration, installation, and design flexibility.

The small form factor device comes in a chip scale package (CSP) that enables designers to accommodate more enhancements in the same amount of board space, leading to further reductions in design and manufacturing costs. The sensor operates from a 2.5V supply voltage and provides all the circuitry necessary to directly interface with a microprocessor using a conventional two-wire serial interface.

Target applications for these miniature color sensors include mobile and consumer products, such as mobile phones, PDAs, MP3 players, hand-held games, portable color detection and measurement devices, as well as a wide range of other small consumer applications.
