Adeneo provides engineering services on the Microsoft .NET Micro Framework

Adeneo, a Microsoft Windows Embedded Partner Program Gold member with facilities in Europe and in the USA, presented its port of the .NET Micro Framework onto Atmel’s AT91SAM9261 ARM9-based microcontroller at the recent Embedded Systems Conference East. This port shows the ability of Adeneo to provide strong support and engineering services to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) looking to build products on the .NET Micro Framework.

The .NET Micro Framework expands Microsoft’s embedded offerings into a new market of devices targeting low-cost 32 bit-applications with low memory density requirements and low power consumption. This platform allows straightforward support of hardware with the ability to write device drivers in C# for hardware connected through standard interfaces, such as SPI, I2C, GPIO and UART, which results in an uncommon ease of use for OEMs designing products with stringent embedded requirements.

Adeneo’s port extends the reach of C# and .NET to Atmel’s AT91SAM9261 Microcontroller to provide greater productivity developing small, embedded devices. This port, combined with Adeneo’s offering in engineering services around the .NET Micro Framework brings new opportunities for OEMs addressing Building/Home automation, Medical, Industrial, or other embedded markets with strong requirements in terms of memory or power consumption.
