Delhi: Microsoft unveiled over 250 custom domains as a part of its plan to offer Indian distinct personalized email ids powered by Windows Live Hotmail. It is said that Microsoft will continue to reveal more new custom domains for users over the next few months and also look at feedback from users and communities to provide its users more personalized email ids on demand.
Various categories on www.coolhotmail.com will list a number of custom domains that describe a users personality, indicate where they live, personify their tastes and likes and much more. A user can therefore pick and choose an email id that reflects his or her personality for free. For example, a user could have an email id such as vinod@coolaquarius.in or vinod@delhirocks.in or vinod@ilovefootball.in, depending on what reflects his identity.
Jaspreet Bindra, country manager, online services business, Microsoft India, said, “Our research shows that the youth today want their own identity and there are not enough email ids available to truly describe one’s personality. An email id is a part of one’s own identity and since people use email as the primary mode of contact, it is important to have an email id which is unique. This led us to roll out a comprehensive list of free personalized email ids that will allow users more choice in an email id with all the added features of their Windows Live Hotmail account,” he added, “Email will now connect with the user in a much deeper way. This is our way of offering our users a more relevant email id in every sense.”
Samir Saraiya, product head-Windows live services, Microsoft India, stated, “Windows Live Hotmail will now give users a high degree of customization with the wide range of innovative, cool and self descriptive customized domains, a platform to express their unique personality in the vast online world. Users can also sign on all Windows Live Services such as Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Spaces and Windows Live SkyDrive Beta with their custom ids.”
