Karl Seelig of AIM named president of the Solder Products Value Council

AIM is pleased to announce that Karl Seelig has been named President of the Solder Products Value Council (SPVC). The SPVC is a management council formed in conjunction with the IPC in August 2001 for the leadership of the global solder manufacturing industry. The Council was established with the goal of creating programs to benefit both solder manufacturers and their customers and consists of three subcommittees: Lead-Free, Market Research and Industry Awareness. The SPVC is made up of solder manufacturers from throughout the world and appears to be the first global committee dedicated to the lead-free issue.
Karl Seelig is Vice President of Technology of AIM. In his 25 years of industry experience, he has written and presented numerous technical papers on topics including lead-free electronics assembly, no-clean flux technology, assembly & process optimization, inspection, and metallurgical studies. Mr. Seelig has received numerous patents in soldering technology, including four for lead-free solder alloys.
