Fairchild Semiconductor’s FXL4TD245, said to be the industry’s first 4-bit, low-voltage dual-supply voltage translator with independent-direction controls, allows for increased design flexibility enabling designers to control the direction of each bit individually compared to typical configurations that control the direction of bi-directional voltage translators in groups of four, eight or sixteen bits. The FXL4TD245’s wide voltage range of 1.1V to 3.6V simplifies designs and accommodates the voltage requirements of a variety of consumer and industrial applications. In addition, the translator’s ultra-compact (2.5 x 3.5mm) DQFN package provides 65% board space savings versus TSSOP packaging, making it ideal for space-constrained ultra-portable, computing and consumer applications.
