Avago Technologies has launched what’s said to be the industry’s smallest 2.5A gate drive optocoupler. The compact and highly integrated ACPL-H312 is available in a stretched SO-8 package which is 40% smaller than conventional dual-inline packages (DIP). With under voltage lockout (UVLO) and low current consumption, Avago’s ACPL-H312 effectively addresses isolation needs where space and efficiency is a premium, such as in IGBT/power MOSFET gate drives, AC and brushless DC motor drives, industrial inverters, air conditioners, washing machines and switching power supplies.
With a maximum high output peak current of 2.5A, the ACPL-H312 provides UVLO to prevent application malfunction, a low IC supply current consumption of 3.0mA, and a high working voltage equal to 891V. This small optocoupler also supplies a superior (common mode rejection) CMR rate up to 15 kV/μs to ensure reliable operation under noisy environments. This product satisfies all major opto-isolation safety standards, such as UL, CSA, and IEC/EN/DIN EN 60747-5-2.
