Tech Mahindra opens Chennai software development center

Tech Mahindra, a software company of the Mahindra and amp; Mahindra group, has set up a new Rs.300 million development center at Mahindra World City in Paranur, near Chennai.
The company, with revenue of $648 million, will initially house about 400 software engineers at the center. Tech Mahindra plans to expand it, both in size and investments, over the next 3-4 years.
The company will leverage the new facility to expand its telecom research and development (R and amp;D) businesses, development of its telecom application business and servicing global telecom equipment manufacturers and telecom services providers.
Tech Mahindra vice chairman, managing director and CEO Vineet Nayyar said that the new center would be integral to the expansion of the company's service offerings and delivery capabilities.
