LitePoint Corporation, a provider of wireless test system solutions, announced that Luc Schoups (pronounced "shoops") has joined the company as senior vice president of worldwide sales. Schoups' hiring is timely as the company is poised to announce three major new systems covering three different wireless standards.
Schoups was most recently vice president of Anritsu and head of its US sales operations. He had been with Anritsu since its acquisition of Wiltron Company in 1990, and was with Wiltron since 1984. During these years Schoups oversaw the growth of different business units from a start-up level of around $20 million to sustained business levels well in excess of $100 million. He also set up and served as president of Anritsu's independent Anritsu Company Ltd. (Hong Kong) and Anritsu Company S.A. de C.V. (Mexico).
At LitePoint, Schoups will oversee worldwide direct and distribution sales. The company, founded in 2000, has had since 2003 an uninterrupted series of profitable quarters. Currently, LitePoint is a major player in the WiFi market. It is estimated that more than half of the world's WiFi devices have been tested on LitePoint systems. LitePoint has said it will pursue expanded wireless markets, and has developed systems for WiMAX Wave 2. The company is expected to soon introduce new products for testing additional wireless communications modalities.
