RECOM develops next generation high efficiency 1A and 1.5A switching regulators

RECOM launches it's high efficiency 1A and 1.5A switching regulators. Two years after introducing the 0.5A R78xx switching regulator family to the market the RECOM engineering team has developed the next generation of innovative switching regulators. The R-78Bxx-1.0 and R-78Bxx-1.5 series have efficiencies of up to 95% and are pin-compatible with it's 0.5A R-78xx-0.5-series and with the common 78xx linear regulators. Due to high efficiencies the R-78Bxx-1.0 and R-78Bxx-1.5 series do not require a heat sink, making it suitable for applications where board space is at a premium and a heat sink cannot be used.
The R-78Bxx-1.0 and R-78Bxx-1.5 series offer wide input ranges from 4.75 to 34Vdc and output voltages from 1.5 to 15Vdc. The switching regulators are non-isolated and feature built-in short circuit protection and thermal shutdown. Measuring 0.69 x 0.45 x 0.35" the series has an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
