Clarity launches Field Service Manager

(Product News, 07 Jul 2008 )

Clarity has announced the commercial launch of a workforce management module that is tightly integrated to its Unified OSS solution – Clarity Field Service Manager. The product is the industry’s first COTS-based workforce management product to be tightly integrated to a common inventory, fulfilment and assurance suite within a singular database model. Clarity Field Service Manager offers new levels of out-of-the-box business process automation in both the fulfilment and assurance domains and will be a unique offering to Tier 1 fixed line and wireless operators globally. Clarity has already had substantial interest in the product and has signed contracts to deliver the solution to several Tier 1 customers.

Clarity Field Service Manager improves efficiency of operator field staff by enabling the optimal allocation of resources via the use of key parameters such as location, availability, skill set, equipment, capacity and availability of service. The solution enables field service staff to gain real-time views of inventory and assurance data, and allows real-time updates by field staff using PDAs and laptop computers. Clarity believes that with the addition of Field Service Manager, the Unified OSS solution now enables unparalleled levels of process automation and will have a substantial impact on the quality of services delivered by Telecom operators.

In a recent report launched at TMF Management World Nice in May 2008, Yankee Group examined the benefits of integrated OSS functionality. The report, a commissioned work conducted by Yankee Group on behalf of Clarity, entitled “Unified OSS Architecture is the Critical Underpinning for Automating the Telecom Service Delivery Factory”, investigates how carriers can provide agility and responsiveness whilst remaining competitive.
