Lite-On Technology Announces Grand Opening of Regional Headquarters and R&D Centre in Singapore

Taiwan-based optoelectronics supplier, Lite-On Technology Corp, announced the grand opening of its Regional Headquarters (RHQ) and Research & Development (R&D) centre in Singapore. The new entity, Lite-On Singapore, will house Lite-On’s new strategic business unit - Optical Communication Solutions (OCS) which comprises of three businesses (IrDA, Optocoupler and Sensor Solutions divisions). OCS has full P&L responsibilities. It will also operate a full-fledge R&D centre and serve as OCS regional marketing hub.
Lite-On Singapore’s R&D centre will be dedicated to the development of cutting-edge and high value-added products for OCS based on a total solution approach that includes software and system levels. The company will build a highly-skilled R&D team of IC designers, process/product engineers, software engineers, optics designers and system architecture engineers. The R&D centre will serve as a one-stop design hub to expand the product portfolio to serves worldwide market in consumer, automotive, communication and industrial applications.
