FCI has developed a flip actuator, 0.5mm pitch, 2mm height FPC ZIF connector for use in optical drives and automotive multimedia systems. Designated the VHC Series, the FPC ZIF connectors provide a robust design that can withstand high cable retention forces making them ideal for consumer and automotive applications.
The connector’s flipping actuator facilitates the secure cable assembly with click actuation, and the VHC series is available with or without cable lock. FCI integrated these features to ensure compatibility for automotive multimedia applications.
The 0.5mm pitch FPC ZIF connector will be available in 40-70 positions and accepts 0.3mm thick FPC cable. The 60-position version is currently available and lower pin-count types are in development to complete the family offering.
