New 8Mx32 DDR2 SDRAMs for Automotive, Networking, Telecom and Digital Consumer Applications

(Technology News, 02 Sep 2008 )

Integrated Silicon Solution has introduced their first DDR2 (double data rate) SDRAMs, the IS43DR32800A, and the IS43DR32801A, 256Mb devices. These devices are said to be the industry’s first 256Mb DDR2 SDRAMs with a 32 bit bus.

"DDR2 SDRAMs are now part of the low to medium density DRAM market segment. Expanding our DRAM product offering to include DDR2 is part of ISSI's long-term commitment to support a complete range of low to medium density DRAMs using leading-edge technology, and to also provide industry first products that meet the needs of our non-PC target markets," said Ron Kalakuntla, ISSI vice president of marketing. “The IS43DR32801A is our first
in a broad range of DDR2 SDRAMs that ISSI will offer, including a variety of densities, organizations, and temperature ranges targeted for automotive, networking, telecom and digital consumer applications.”

This 1.8V device is organized as 8Mx32, with speeds up to 400Mhz (DDR2-800), providing data transfer of up to 6.4 gigabytes/sec in 64 bit systems.

This 256Mb DDR2 DRAM is used in a variety of high volume applications including networking and telecommunication equipment, HDTV, LCD TV, set-top boxes, hard disk drives, automotive and digital consumer applications.
