Fairchild Semiconductor Malaysia Wins the National Occupational Safety and Health Excellence Gold Award 2007

Fairchild Semiconductor has been awarded the coveted Gold award for the Electrical/Electronics Industry category in the National Occupational Safety and Health Excellence Award 2007. This award recognizes companies for their outstanding Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) management systems, initiatives and performance. These accomplishments reflect a sustained commitment by all management staff and employees to OSH. Fairchild was recognized for their high level of passion, proactive initiatives and commitment to occupational health and safety by both its management and employees.

It underlines the importance and commitment we place on occupational health and safety, reinforcing our belief that employees are our most valuable asset,” said Narinder Singh, managing director of Fairchild Malaysia. Narinder accepted the award on behalf of the Penang employees at the award presentation ceremony held recently at the Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur.
The Award was presented by the Deputy Prime Minister, Mohd Najib Bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak on behalf of the Prime Minister Abdullah bin Haji Ahmad Badawi to the winners in 16 industry categories. Winners were picked from many candidates, audited by officials from the Ministry of Human Resource, Department of Occupational Safety and Health and judged by the National Council, Occupational Safety and Health, Malaysia. This is the second time that Fairchild Semiconductor Malaysia has been recognized as a leader in Occupational Safety and Health.
