Micrium Named Platinum Partner for Renesas Europe

(Business News, 22 Sep 2008 )

Micrium and Renesas Technology have announced that Micrium is the first third party supplier to be recognized as a platinum level partner by Renesas Technology America and Renesas Europe. Each region names no more than 15 companies as platinum level partners, and the level is obtained by invitation only. Micrium was selected based on its recognition as an RTOS vendor in the embedded industry, as well as the individual contributions to the industry made by its CEO, Jean Labrosse.

In recognition of its unique standing with Renesas Technology, Micrium will be also participating as a key sponsor in Renesas Technology’s upcoming Developers’ Conference, which will be held in San Diego, Calif., from October 13-15, 2008. As a part of its sponsorship, Micrium will give away a free copy of its award-winning uC/Probe embedded systems monitoring tool to each registered attendee that is a customer of Renesas.

About Micrium’s uC/Probe
uC/Probe is embedded software that eliminates the need to stop an application in order to get system feedback, and saves considerable development time by visually allowing users to see the internals of a running embedded application. As a result, developers can ensure that the system is working properly, or immediately identify system instabilities that are visible only when the system is live.

uC/Probe works with compilers, any 8-, 16-, 32- and 64-bit CPUs as well as DSPs, and can be used with any toolchain that can generate an ELF/DWAFF or IEEE695 file, eliminating the need for custom programming or scripting. Data is displayed graphically on a PC running Microsoft Windows, and values can be numeric or shown as gauges, bar graphs, plots, graphs, LEDs, counters or pie charts. uC/Probe does not require users to write code, and can operate with or without a real time operating system (RTOS). The product interfaces with hardware targets via J-Tag, RS-232C, TCP/IP, USB and Renesas emulators through High Performance Workshop Target Server for data collection.
