Customers Gaining Value from SAP and HP Alliance Focused on the Midmarket

(Business News, 02 Feb 2009 )

SAP Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) has announced success of the SAP Business All-in-One fast-start program with long-time strategic ally Hewlett Packard in providing midsize companies added value to their business management processes. The collaboration provides customers with the SAP Business All-in-One solution on HP hardware, enabling them to gain access to leading business applications on an optimized platform. ]
The offering has already provided operational efficiency for its customers. Through the offering, customers in the manufacturing, services and wholesale distribution industries streamline their general and industry-specific business processes, giving them the power of transparency to better help them run their business while also supporting growth aspirations for tomorrow. In addition, quick implementation helps reduce the total cost of ownership in a time of economic instability and high competition in market.

The offering is part of the SAP Business All-in-One fast-start program designed for midsize companies to quickly scope, purchase and implement SAP Business All-in-One solutions. The fast-start program in Asia Pacific Japan was launched throughout 2008 with now more than 40 SAP Channel Partners and over 100 customers across the region; more than 20 of which have gone live on the solution in 6 to 8 weeks. The specific collaboration with HP takes the SAP Business All-in-One fast-start program and runs it on tailored hardware from HP. As the offering is pre-tested, preconfigured and preinstalled, customers have a complete solution ready for them to use quickly and affordably. All services including implementation and maintenance are part of the offering.

Customers and partners are already experiencing early benefits. Aditya Auto, based in India, is a manufacturer of automotive components. To meet the demands of the Indian automotive industry, Aditya needed to implement a fully integrated business application to align their internal business processes in the quickest time possible. They chose the fast-start program because they wanted a business solution that would support and improve their operational efficiency. “SAP Best Practices helped us quickly establish company-wide business processes that seamlessly integrated operations and financial controlling,” said Mihir Jayaraman, Project Manager, Aditya Auto. Together with SAP Channel Partner, Unisoft, Aditya Auto deployed the fast-start solution in 6.5 weeks.

The joint offering from SAP and HP was announced globally in May 2008. It was designed specifically for the demands of midsize companies to provide them with a comprehensive, cost-effective, turnkey offering. Partners specifically have found value in the offering because of the quick implementation and the fact that the solution is preinstalled, pretested, preconfigured and comes with a clear implementation methodology which supports smooth projects. This allows them to offer the comprehensive, proven and reliable product that their customers want.

The complete package includes business applications from SAP Business All-in-One and the SAP MaxDB database, which is based on SUSE Linux Enterprise from Novell. The SAP solutions are preinstalled onto the HP BladeSystem c30000 enclosure and HP ProLiant server technology. The HP BladeSystem c3000 running SAP Business All-in-One integrates computing, networking, management, power and cooling, storage and data protection within a single, affordable and easy-to-manage enclosure designed specifically for midsize businesses.
