Based on Quartics’ patented Qvu video enhancement technology, the QV1721 single-chip, full-featured video processor brings the “Beyond HD” video experience to consumers worldwide. The latest high-definition (HD) video solution from Quartics is suitable for applications including netbooks and notebook PCs, IP set-top boxes, and HD TVs.
Designed to create the best possible viewing experience for high-quality, cost-sensitive electronic devices, the QV1721 is manufactured on TSMC’s 0.13micron process and is the first generation of products to be based on Quartics’ Qvu architecture. The second generation devices, to be manufactured on 65nm process, are expected to be launched soon. Quartics will also come out with lower power 45nm devices before the end of the year. Quartics’ Qvu video enhancement technology can extend the battery life and video viewing time of the device, and can handle all video processing tasks in a single platform.
Recently, Quartics has set up a video algorithm development and systems engineering center in Shanghai, aiming to bring its Qvu programmable video-enhanced technology to consumers and OEM/ODM customers in China. The R&D center will focus on video innovation, video algorithm development and implementation, and support of its customers in the region.
