Energy Micro Expands Asia Market

Energy Micro, the energy friendly microcontroller (MCU) company, has appointed Apps-Connect as a distributor for its growing family of ARM Cortex-M3 based low power EFM32 Gecko microcontrollers in the ASEAN region and India.

Headquartered in Singapore, Apps-Connect also has offices in Thailand and another in India, now a key trading partner of the ASEAN region. The company has a strong niche market focus and provides a value-added service connecting customers to innovative solutions capable of delivering significant product differentiation.

In benchmark testing, Energy Micro’s EFM32 Gecko microcontroller family has been proven to consume a quarter of the energy required by other 8-, 16- and 32-bit microcontrollers. The ultra low power EFM32 Gecko microcontroller family was launched in October 2009 and is now in full production. Energy Micro has since announced details of its software and pin-compatible Tiny Gecko and Giant Gecko products, offering a comprehensive choice offering a comprehensive choice of package and memory size options.
