Marvell Co-founder Named Entrepreneur of the Year

Marvell's co-founder Weili Dai has been named the 2010 Entrepreneur of the Year by the Hua Yuan Science and Technology Association (HYSTA), a prominent industry organization aimed at fostering closer U.S.-China business relationships. Dai was selected as HYSTA's Entrepreneur of the Year based on her success in building and growing Marvell into a leading global technology company. She is the only woman co-founder of a major, public semiconductor company in the world, and has helped lead Marvell's 15 years of growth from start-up to a current market capitalization of $12 billion. HYSTA presented its prestigious award at a gala dinner on Oct. 2 at the Santa Clara Marriott.

"I am humbled by this great honor, to be selected as Entrepreneur of the Year by such an important global organization," says Dai. "When I co-founded Marvell 15 years ago, it was my passion to create a true industry leader—a company known for both its differentiated technology and its high integrity, win-win business philosophy. Thanks to a lot of hard work by our many employees, we have achieved that vision together. I share this award with my co-founders, Sehat and Pantas, and all Marvell employees around the world."
