Energy Micro has announced the appointment of Andrea Marchi as VP of Sales for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. He joins Bryan Hung, Energy Micro’s General Manager and Director of Sales, Greater China, at the company’s newly opened Asia Headquarters in Hong Kong.
Andrea joins Energy Micro from Texas Instruments, Dallas, where he was General Manager of the Ultra Low Power & C5000 DSP business unit. He was formerly Director of TI’s Analog Business in Europe and Director of the company’s European ASIC & Wireless Infrastructure DSP Group. He holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Milan Polytechnic, Italy.
"Initial market reaction to Energy Micro’s low power EFM32 Gecko microcontroller has already been very positive in APAC and it’s the right time to establish a stronger foothold there. I look forward to further expanding our activities in the territory," said Marchi.
Andreas Koller, VP Sales and Marketing worldwide added, "Success in medical, metering, security and other battery operated product sectors in the APAC region is there to be built on. Energy sensitive product design is rapidly becoming an essential discipline and Andrea’s experience and skill set will help us to enhance customer support levels throughout the region."
