Platform Boasts Highest GCF Test Case Coverage

(Product News, 28 Dec 2010 )

COMPRION's SIMfony LTE has been GCF certified for several months. With the validation of new 3GPP LTE USIM conformance test cases on December 23, COMPRION SIMfony LTE is the test solution covering most GCF relevant test cases for WI 125.

Together with other industry partners, COMPRION was leading the specification work in 3GPP TSG CT6 as rapporteur. The company supported the enhancement of the existing test specifications for USIM (3GPP TS 31.121 Rel-8 USIM) and USAT (3GPP TS 31.124 Rel-8 USAT) to include also the test cases for the new requirements of the LongTerm Evolution (LTE).

COMPRION SIMfony LTE, listed at GCF as TP 114, covers now over 80 percent of the GCF required test cases. Besides complying with the GCF test platform acceptance criteria, COMPRION SIMfony LTE is also listed at PTCRB and Verizon Wireless. COMPRION’s test solution is the most popular system for combined LTE-USIM/USAT handset testing. The system consists of the (U)SIM simulator IT³ Platform (first choice for test platforms validated at GCF, CCF and PTCRB) or IT³ Prove! (for pre-conformance testing) and the Rohde & Schwarz network simulator R&S CMW500.

The popularity of COMPRION SIMfony lies in the convenient and easy handling for the operator. The simulators work seamlessly together running combined tests against the mobile phone. During test case execution and result analysis, the operator only needs to interact with one GUI reducing the user’s workload to a minimum level which saves time and money.
