Ashok Soota to Step Down from Mindtree

MindTree Ltd, a global IT and Product Engineering Services Company, has announced that Ashok Soota, Founder and Executive Chairman, has communicated to the Board of Directors that he would like to move on from his current role by 31 March, 2011 and pursue something new outside MindTree.

MindTree acknowledges his leadership and selfless contribution during the last decade, bringing MindTree from a fledgling start-up to a 10,000-people, globally-admired, organization that it is today.

MindTree’s Board of Directors will meet early next week at Bangalore to choose the most appropriate transition plan for the company that is in the best interests of its customers, employees and shareholders. MindTree’s Board of directors also indicated that there have been ongoing discussions on succession with Ashok. The board further added that the company has a strong management team that can drive the company forward.

Commenting on Soota’s decision to move on, MindTree’s CEO and MD, Krishnakumar Natarajan said, “Under Ashok’s guidance and leadership, MindTree has become what it is today. It is now our responsibility to take it to the next higher level; we believe that we have the vision and the capacity to take his dream further.
