Strategic Test Launches i.MX53-based DIMMs

Strategic Test has expanded its CoM family of computer-on-modules with the release of the TX53, which integrates the ARM Cortex A8-based Freescale multimedia processor i.MX53. Featuring multi-standard-video support with resolutions up to 1080p, enabled by the i.MX53, the module is ideal for deployment in embedded applications with high performance demands on graphic, video and visualization.

Measuring 67.6x31x4.2mm, the TX53 has a 10/100Mbps Ethernet port with IEEE1588 support, two High Speed USB 2.0 ports, along with two cameras and two CAN interfaces. It also integrates an LCD controller and a NEON SIMD Media Accelerator. The processor also has a hardware graphic accelerator, which supports OpenGL ES 2.0 and Open VG 1.1. As an option the module is available with a dual LVDS display interface. Up to 2GB of memory is a unique feature of this compact, small, sized module and goes to make the TX53 an excellent choice for data-intensive applications or for devices with Android as an operating system.

For the TX53 module, Strategic sees the target applications and markets in security and surveillance, for digital signage, Point of Sales and On The Job tasks, along with automotive and test systems, which require a great deal of computing power and high-end warning systems that require a significant amount of visualization.

The Strategic Development Kit 5 provides developers with a high performance environment featuring a large number of hardware connections, which enable them to concentrate on their individual application requirements and thus save time and costs.
