Mouser Announces Founding Membership in CEDA

(Business News, 15 Apr 2011 )

Mouser Electronics Inc. has announced its Founding Membership in the China Electronics Distributor Alliance (CEDA). CEDA’s mission is to represent franchised distribution services in the China market, to strengthen cooperation between distributors and suppliers, encourage technical and service innovation, and work with the Chinese government to shape policies. The non-profit organization serves the needs of franchised electronics component distributors with operations in greater China. In the last decade, China has emerged as a key player in the world’s electronics supply chain and production services have become increasingly important.

“The market in China is critical to Mouser’s business as well as the whole electronics Industry and CEDA will help greatly to strengthen the importance of the authorized distribution channel in China,” says Mark Burr-Lonnon, Mouser Vice-President of APAC Business. “Last year, Mouser saw revenues increase by more than 150% in Asia, led of course by China and we expect similar substantial growth this year, too. To help support that expansion we have local branch offices to assist customers in their own time zones and languages. Customers really appreciate this personal level of localized service, for China we have both a Shanghai and Hong Kong location with a third location to be added soon.”

“We are very pleased to have Mouser as one of the Founding Members of CEDA,” says Michael Liu, PhD, CEO of CNT Networks and Secretary of the CEDA Preparatory Office. “As one of the world’s leading electronic component distributors, Mouser’s participation in the Alliance is extremely important to us. We appreciate their support in helping us get the CEDA started. With rapid increased design innovations in China, low volume and high mix purchasing is ever important. In this respect, CEDA will promote catalog services in China to support design chain activities.”
