SCHURTER AG's V-Lock cord retaining solution for IEC appliance couplers can handle current ratings of 10A to 16A. The cord-lock system features pin in the socket interlocking with a notch in the plug, preventing unintentional pullout of the power cable. This eliminates the need for a specific socket system or retaining device that has to be adapted and built-in.
The locking is released by pressing on the releasing lever, which can easily be identified by its bright yellow color—thus distinguishing this system from existing power cable connections. Typical applications are in medical appliances, analysis and laboratory instruments, telecom and IT devices, power distribution, and radio and TV studios.
The cord-lock system's extraction force is 200N (min.). It is specified over the -25°C to 75°C temperature range, and has a black PVC housing.
