ONFI-3.0-compliant UFC IP Enables Faster Data Transfer Speed

Posedge Inc. has expanded its IP portfolio with the release of the ONFI-3.0 compliant Universal Flash Controller (UFC), which provides a standard NAND Flash device interface conforming to the new standards while maintaining backward compatibility with its earlier versions.

The IP features data rates up to 400MT/s; up to 40 bits of ECC; option for multiple ECC engines for higher throughput for error cases; 2K to 16K page sizes; 256B to 1kB sector size for ECC; and single ended, differential interface support.

Posedge’s UFC IP also supports both SLC and MLC flash memories and can operate with NOR Flash, SRAM and Serial Flash devices – giving customers unmatched flexibility in their design. The IP also features up to 128Gb of Flash memory and 400MT/s for adaptation into SSDs and other high performance applications, and supports the NV-DDR-2 mode for delay matching.
