Designed for telecom, ATE, automation, and similar applications, the LPT18 power supply from Taiyo Yuden takes line-level ac and produces two dc outputs, with an overall rating in the 18W range. The 114mm long _ 32mm wide _28mm high unit accepts 100-240Vac (47-63Hz) and delivers +5.1Vdc/3A and -5Vdc/1.5A. A convection-cooled unit, it achieves efficiency up to 85% due to a discontinuous variable-frequency mode of switching operation.
