Space-saving 32-channel, 16-bit DACs for optical networking applications
( 01 Jul 2004 )
Maxim's MAX5732-MAX5735 are claimed to be the world's highest precision and most compact 32-channel, 16-bit DACs which integrate 32 individually buffered, 16-bit DACs into an 838mm, 56-lead QFN package. These devices reduce system cost by eliminating the need for external output amplifiers, filters, or capacitors, making them cost-effective and space-saving design solutions. Targeted at industrial applications including automatic test equipment (ATE), optical networking, and data acquisition, the MAX5732-MAX5735 offer improved linearity over previous generation devices. At the 16-bit level, they guarantee integral nonlinearity of 0.024% FSR (max) and differential nonlinearity of less than 1 LSB. Available in temperature ranges: commercial 0 to +708C and extended Ð40 to +858C.
