Feinfocus has announced the release of its FMS-080.20, the company's "first X-ray inspection system with microfocus sealed tube technology.
This new system, based on the company's .20 series system, is designed for contract manufacturers, failure analysis labs, and other customers who require smaller systems with simpler functionality than the standard high magnification microfocus units available.
The FMS-080.20 is also suited for lead-free solder-joint inspection. The Feinfocus sealed tube operates at voltages up to 80kV, with a maximum target power of 15W, and offers a focal spot size of approximately 10µm. Because of the sealed nature of the tube, a vacuum system and separate high power generator are not necessary, reducing maintenance, system weight, and cost.
A user-friendly, ergonomic console allows for operators of any skill level to operate the system and run inspection routines quickly and efficiently.
Standard features include a three-axes manipulator that can be operated with switches, buttons, or joystick; a 6" image intensifier; and standard black and white monitor. A video printer, 9" image intensifier, and the FIP-600 image processing system are offered as options.
