Miniature, 1W dc/dc converters with 3kV isolation

Texas Instruments has introduced a 1W, unregulated dc/dc converter in a miniature package that features 3kV isolation. The DCH01 family of plugin power modules operates from a 5V input, and provides single voltages of 5, 12 and 15V complementary dual-output voltages of ±5 , ±12 and ±15V. These tiny modules are ideal for industrial applications such as data acquisition, motor control, programmable logic control, test and measurement, medical instrumentation, and professional audio.

The series provides up to 85% efficiency, and meets UL60950 specifications with 3kVrms isolation and EN55022 Class B EMC performance. Supporting an operating temperature range of –40° to 85°C, the modules power TI’s ISO721 and ISO721M high-speed digital isolators, introduced in January.

The DCH01 is housed in an industry standard 20x8x10mm SIP-7 package that is Pb-free/RoHS compliant. Texas Instruments, www.ti.com
