Nu Horizons expands distribution agreement with SMSC into Taiwan, Australia and New Zealand

Nu Horizons Electronics Corp.—a global distributor of advanced technology semiconductor, display and system solutions—has expanded its distribution agreement with SMSC, a global supplier of analog and mixed-signal semiconductor solutions, into the countries of Taiwan, Australia and New Zealand. In addition to these three countries, Nu Horizons is fully franchised to distribute SMSC’s USB hubs, USB mass storage, I/O, Ethernet and embedded networking devices throughout North and South America, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and India.

SMSC serves in the consumer electronics, infotainment, mobile and desktop PC, industrial and embedded markets. Its semi-custom and application specific standard products (ASSPs) allow users to access or transfer digital assets with convenience and speed. Applications for SMSC’s products include: industrial networking, process automation, point-of-sale terminals, cellular base stations and gaming systems, among many others.

Mitch Statham, vice president worldwide sales, SMSC, said, "Nu Horizons has been a long standing distribution partner to SMSC and is growing in importance due to its world-class logistics, in-depth product expertise and demand creation fulfillment capabilities.
