Kyocera and IKON enter into North American supply agreement

(Business News, 18 Jan 2007 )

Kyocera Mita Corporation, a group company of Kyocera Corporation and manufacturers of office information equipment including network-ready digital MFP’s and printers, has entered into a strategic North American supply agreement with IKON Office Solutions Inc. IKON is an independent channel for document management systems and services, including copier, printer and MFP technologies.

Under this agreement, IKON will sell and support three of Kyocera’s monochrome MFPs manufactured for IKON – the KM-3050i, KM-4050i and KM-5050i (30-, 40- and 50-ppm, respectively) – to customers in the United States and Canada. The products are expected to be available from IKON for customer delivery throughout the US and Canada in February 2007.

Koji Seki, chairman & president of Kyocera Mita Corporation, said, ”We are honored and proud to take this step with IKON. When you consider that IKON has access to multiple product lines from many leading manufacturers in our industry, the fact that IKON added Kyocera technology to their product portfolio demonstrates the value that our products deliver in the marketplace.”

Matthew J. Espe, chairman and chief executive officer, stated, “This agreement with Kyocera Mita expands and enhances IKON’s best-in-class product portfolio. These MFP devices from Kyocera Mita, combined with our straightforward approach to pricing, configuration and service, enable us to offer our customers a robust and reliable pre-configured solution and greatly simplifies the transaction.”
