Suprema has announced that its algorithm for automated fingerprint identification system (AFIS) has been chosen by South Korea's National Police Agency (KNPA). KNPA's 3-year phased AFIS project focuses on improving the quality of fingerprint images in its legacy database and upgrading administration software for the database. The project aims to update the database of 400 million fingerprint images in total and already updated the database for 140 million fingerprint images during last year's phase I.
